New AXYZ Router Reduces Waste for Feather River Packaging
Feather River Packaging are an agricultural packaging distributor based in Gridley, California. They have built up an enviable reputation supplying fresh fruit and vegetable packing to the farming industry since 1997 and recently invested in an AXYZ 4008 router from AXYZ, the leading manufacturer and supplier of CNC Router Systems.
After AXYZ demonstrated the ease of use of the machine and most importantly it’s ability to cut material to the specification required by the customer coupled with it’s competitive price tag, the decision was easy.
Prior to this shrewd investment by the company, cutting box ends made from 1/2” thick 3-ply corrugated sheets used to take 3 hours to process by hand but using the AXYZ CNC router with it’s 3 spindles, now takes just 30 minutes. The company has certainly seen an increase in new business due to reduced lead times and with 50% less material waste, Feather River Packaging haven’t looked back since.
Quality of the product has also increased as the AXYZ router is capable of cutting material with a compression test factor of 1400 lbs as oppose to the previous boxes which used to crush at 900 lbs, and with no additional cost implication this means some very happy customers.

The machine is so easy to use we hardly needed any training. AXYZ support has been brilliant. When we need anything the service staff are always friendly and willing to help.”
He continues: “AXYZ support has been very good, especially since our use of the machine was out of the ordinary. Making paper parts presented some challenges, but AXYZ helped us along the way to solve our initial problems. We are now running 3 shifts per day with minimum problems.”
