VERTEX IMP Machine
Purpose-Built for IMP. From Both Sides.
RETHINKING IMP PROCESSING
Stand it up. Cut from both sides.
VERTEX takes a different approach to machining foam-core insulated metal panels. Its opposing spindles process each steel facing directly using short, rigid tools, eliminating the need to cut through the full panel thickness. The enclosed vertical system features automatic tool changers on both sides and mechanical roller clamping for secure, controlled panel movement without a vacuum table or spoilboard. Designed for target panel thicknesses of 4″, 6″ and 8″, it accommodates panels up to 48″ wide and 40′ long. Localized dust extraction at both cutting areas, with enclosed containment to control debris and maintain a cleaner workspace.
BUILT AROUND THE IMP PROCESS
VERTEX IMP brings cutting, material handling, tooling and debris containment together in one purpose-built solution for insulated metal panels
- SPEED
Process Both Sides at Once
Opposing spindles cut both steel facings simultaneously, helping deliver faster processing without long-reach tooling.
- CONTAINMENT
Cut. Capture. Contain
Integrated dust collection captures debris close to the cutting area, while the enclosed design helps keep metal and foam contained.
- CUT-OUT MANAGEMENT
Keep Cut-Outs Under Control
A retained foam web keeps large cut-outs connected to the panel until removal, helping maintain stability during handling and shipping.
Direct Access to Both Facings
Opposing cutting heads access each steel facing independently — eliminating the need to reach through the entire panel core.
Short, Rigid Tooling
Shorter tooling helps reduce vibration and supports smoother, more consistent processing.
Roller-Controlled Handling
Mechanical rollers keep panels supported and controlled — even with textured or imperfect surfaces.
Precision Cutting. Secure Handling. Seamless Automation.
- PROCESS CONTROL
Shorter Tools. Greater Control.
Direct access to each steel facing helps reduce vibration and supports cleaner, more consistent cutting.
- MATERIAL HANDLING
No Vacuum Table Required
Mechanical roller clamping securely controls the panel without vacuum hold-down, spoilboards, gasketing or deck resurfacing.
- AUTOMATION
Automatic Tool Changes
Automatic tool changers on both sides transition between steel cutting and foam removal as part of one streamlined process.

Features & Benefits
Designed for Long IMP Panels
VERTEX IMP supports panels up to 40 ft in length, with target thicknesses of 4, 6 and 8 inches and widths up to 48 inches, giving manufacturers a system designed around common IMP dimensions.
Process Steel and Foam in One Workflow
VERTEX IMP processes both steel facings, automatically changes tools, then removes foam inward from both sides while retaining the required centre web. This brings multiple IMP processing stages together in one defined workflow.
Controlled Cut-Out Retention
Large cut-outs remain connected to the panel through a controlled centre foam web until downstream removal. This helps keep the processed panel stable for handling and shipping while preventing loose cut-outs from falling inside the machine.
Automatic Tool Change
Each side of VERTEX IMP has its own spindle and automatic tool changer, allowing the machine to transition from steel-facing processing to foam removal as part of one integrated sequence. This helps reduce manual tool changes and keeps production moving.
Flexible Panel Handling
Roller-controlled mechanical clamping supports the panel through the cutting zone without relying on vacuum hold-down, spoilboards, gasketing or deck resurfacing. This is particularly useful for textured or imperfect panel facings.
Enclosed Dust & Debris Management
Dust collection is positioned close to both cutting locations inside an enclosed chamber. This helps contain metal and foam debris within the process, reducing escaped debris and manual cleanup around the machine.
