The HDS2 series of machines are high speed CNC routers designed for precision machining in a continuous production environment. They are ideal for routing, milling and engraving operations in 2D and 3D on a broad range of materials in industries such as aerospace, engineering plastics, metal fabrication, woodworking and many more. Their robust construction means that aluminum, brass, and steels can be cut as well as plastics, laminates, woods and composites.
The machine frame is a single piece welded steel construction which is stress relieved and milled flat to a very fine tolerance. The high capacity steel gantry is driven from each end by precision ballscrews for backlash free motion and the controller has a sophisticated self squaring feature which keeps the machine accurately aligned at all times to eliminate any twisting or crabbing.
The HDS2 machines use state of the art digital drives with ac brushless servo motors and closed loop position monitoring with full look-ahead for ultra smooth motion. These are very fast machines which do not compromise accuracy or cut quality. They all have built in vacuum beds with zoned switching to optimize workpiece hold down.
